Sailor remembers Pearl Harbor attack
PEARL HARBOR, Hawaii - The morning of Dec. 7, 1941, Yeoman 2nd Class Durrell Conner was wrapping Christmas presents aboard the USS California when he heard a commotion. Peering through a porthole of the battleship, the 23-year-old saw an airplane approaching low.

Edwards: Please remember Pearl Harbor
It was a beautiful morning in Hawaii. The trade winds were gently blowing, and it was a little cool. I wondered if it had felt like this back in December 1941. I was with my father for the 40th anniversary of the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. It was the first and only time my father, who was on the battleship USS Arizona at the time of the attack, was able to attend the ceremonies in remembrance of the day.
